A Year-Round RV Maintenance Checklist

Are you a proud owner of an RV? That’s great; after all, who doesn’t like RVing during autumn breaks? At the same time, keeping your RV in good shape and functional requires regular care. What are those? You may ask. Well, we have prepared an annual checklist for its upkeep in the infographics that follow below.

Check for the engines and fuel pipes. If they are functioning well, that’s good. After the ice has melted and the days have started getting longer, you can note any damages, scratches, or dents in your RV’s exterior. Replace all the weather stripping on time.

The next thing you must know is to choose the right RV cover. A fabric cover may appear affordable but won’t protect your RV from excessive heat or cold, not to mention any high-speed wind or hails can easily cause damage. You can go for a metal carport or a steel garage. They may have an initial investment but will pay for themselves in the long run.

After every trip, clean your RV thoroughly inside out. You can use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust or dirt from the carpet and sitting area. Before parking, empty all your belongings, including food items, unplug appliances and keep all the batteries out in a cool and dry place. Don’t forget to clean the exterior, from the roof to your tires.

You can invest in a quality RV lock to keep your items safe when not used. Consider ventilation panels to maintain the airflow. Even in storage, you must check your RV’s functioning on a regular basis. Before taking it out, examine it once again for any damages. It is best to follow the manufacturer’s advice and don’t forget about timely servicing to prolong your RV’s life.
